Click here to view the PDF file for membership in the Hiawatha Interpretive AssociationThe Hiawatha Interpretive Association has made a number of significant contributions toward the mission of the Hiawatha National Forest.Accomplishments:•Annual funding of 3-5 summer student internships, including a botany intern •Provide educational outreach for local youth through support for Life of Lake Superior program, Clear Lake Education Center and More Kids in the Woods programs•Sponsor Superior Wildlands Newspaper•Campground Culture Tours and summer interpretive programs•Creation of an interagency welcome video•Support for the annual Youth Archeology Workshop on Grand Island•Interpretive signage for the Hiawatha National Forest at Pete’s Lake, Grand Island, Eben Ice Caves, Sandtown historic site, and other sites.•Dark Skies Program using the forest’s large Celestron telescope•Funding for local Raptor Center presentations•Birding by the Bay Festival 2003-06
